New Member Spotlight: Julie Broadway

Please join us in welcoming Julie Broadway as a new member to CREW Northern Virginia!
1. Describe your current position.
I am a Gallery Manager and Consultant with my family business, Broadway Gallery. Which really means I am a jack of all trades! Whether it is helping clients across the counter, consulting with designers on art and framing selection and placement, assisting with installations throughout the DMV, or even acting like IT for the day, I am thrilled to be a resource to my family and team! Broadway Gallery has been in business for 48 years, serving the DMV in all art services needs from residential, to government, to corporate – we cover it all!
2. Describe your career history.
I have been back in Northern Virginia working for my family since February of 2025. Before that I was working in Charlotte, North Carolina for an interior solutions company for 3 years. My experience there within the design and construction industry is ultimately what led me home to help run the family business. I fell in love with being able to assist people in seeing how design can change their space – whether that be through art, furniture, or walls in both residential and commercial spaces. It all makes an impact!
3. What attracted you to CREW NoVA?
I see the future of Broadway Gallery having a real impact in the corporate and commercial spaces here in the DMV. Design is playing a heavier role in workplaces, and art is often a missing piece there. I am passionate about learning more about the commercial construction industry to see where and how we play a part in that. I am excited to learn from women who have been connected in this industry in a variety of ways to more clearly see the big picture.
4. Name a woman that inspires you and why.
My grandmother, Sue Broadway, is one of the most inspirational people in my life! In 1978 while my grandfather was deployed overseas, she started her framing business in the basement of their townhouse in Springfield. As an artist she saw a gap in high quality framing services in the area. From her basement, she grew the business to our operations center in Alexandria. In the years she ran the business, she opened multiple locations across Northern Virginia before passing the torch to her kids, my dad and aunt, who still run the business today. At 88 years old she is still creating! She makes jewelry that is showcased in multiple locations, including our two galleries.
5. Tell us about yourself, your family, or a fun fact!
My family is incredibly lucky to be so close – especially working together day to day! We are all located in NoVA, with my dad, aunt, sister and I working together to run Broadway Gallery. In my free time I enjoy other creative outlets including creating floral arrangements. I am an avid reader and enjoy hiking and camping when the weather is nice! I look forward to getting to know more of the members of the CREW NoVA organization!
